Why PGA Golf Management at UNL?

All of our students have one thing in common: they are passionate about golf, just like you. Here at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s PGM program, you will be able to do what you love and transform that passion into a successful career. Whether you’re looking to become a Head Professional at an exclusive country club, a sales representative for a major golf company or a golf tournament director, we can make sure you can achieve your goal. All of our graduates will attain PGA membership and we have a 100% career placement rate upon graduation. Our collaborations with the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture’s Turfgrass and Landscape Management program, the College of Education and Human Science’s Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management program and the College of Business make sure you are prepared for every aspect of working in today’s golf industry.

The PGA golf Management program is located in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR). CASNR students are exposed to an education that is transformative and allows each student to craft their experience to fit their passions. Individualized attention and support in small classroom settings will help you develop your professional skills, while hands-on experiences both inside and outside of the classroom will allow you to continually find opportunities to grow.

Ready to Apply?

The PGA requires prospective PGA Golf Management students to be formally accepted into the PGM program. Therefore, if a student who has been admitted to UNL wishes to be considered for the cohort that will begin the upcoming fall semester, that student will need to submit proof of playing ability by August 1 (preferably sooner). One option is to provide a copy of current documentation of certified golf handicap of 12 or better (e.g. USGA handicap card) or simply email GHIN # to pgm@unl.edu. Another option is to submit a verification of playing ability form estimating equivalent of a 12 or better handicap signed by a PGA professional or high school golf coach (this can be mailed, faxed, dropped off at the PGM office or scanned and sent as email attachment). After receiving one of the above items, the PGA Golf Management office will send the student a letter of acceptance into the PGA Golf Management program at UNL.
